Update on government restrictions related to Covid 19 in Azerbaijan
According to a decision taken on April 22, 2022 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan the special quarantine regime will remain in force until July 1, 2022.
Although the situation in Azerbaijan has improved and is, according to the national authorities, good it was decided that some restrictions would continue to apply.
Thus, as of May 1, 2022, face masks are no longer required. Most public transport, including the Baku Metro, reopened on May 31 for weekdays, and resumed weekend operations from October 1, 2021.

Nowadays, the entry to Azerbaijan is limited. In fact, since September 6, 2021, French citizens and foreigners residing in France are allowed to enter Azerbaijan by air on the condition that they are vaccinated. Vaccination certificates issued by EU member states are recognized and can be used in Azerbaijan. Thus, the French health pass is accepted without the need for conversion into the Azerbaijani system.
In order to enter Azerbaijan, it will be necessary to present a “covid-19 passport” and a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old (antigenic tests and self-tests are not recognized by the Azerbaijani authorities). However, for minor passengers only the PCR test is required.
